"I had been struggling with my faith during high school and just experiencing this mission trip has helped me in uncountable ways."
My most memorable story was from Mustard Seed’s apostolate Jacob’s Ladder. Part of our group was painting the new administrative building. I was walking by myself to find where the rest of our group who were interacting with the residents. Out of nowhere this guy who the other residents called “Pop” took me by the hand and begin to walk with me. He walked with me all the way from the village of Damascus to the chapel and then to Care Plus where we had eaten lunch. In my mind, thinking back on it now, I saw that as God grabbing my hand and letting me know he is here an has been walking with me and will continue to walk with me until the end of time. It was just incredinle to me. I had been struggling with my faith during high school and just experiencing this mission trip has helped me in uncountable ways. I am also extremely thankful for the friends I have made here. I see God in every single one of them and it is comforting to know that they share the same faith and beliefs as me and we could continue to form bonds around that and Jamaica.
