"All of the residents knew nothing else but love, which was absolutely amazing. It was very easy to see God in them because of their loving nature. "
The most impactful part of the trip for me actually occurred when we first stepped out of the bus at Sophie’s Place on the first night. I remember seeing Donovan walk right up to Father Chris and give him a big hug before he even said hello. This set the tone for the entire week as I continuously experienced the residents giving us more love than we could possibly give them. I was blown away by how comfortable Donovan was in showing his love to someone who I thought he would only barely remember. All of the residents knew nothing else but love, which was absolutely amazing. It was very easy to see God in them because of their loving nature. Spiritually, they are much more wealthy than us. Although we are much more gifted physically and financially, I would rather be more gifted spiritually to deepen my relationship with God and find love in everyone. Words really cannot explain my experience in Jamaica, which all started in witnessing Donovan giving a hug to Father Chris.
