"The trip has not only helped me grow deeper in my faith, but has changed my perspective on life. "
Going to Jamaica has changed my life. The eyes of my heart were opened to the joy found in suffering. As I was thinking about what to write in this letter, it was so difficult to write just one story. Each story teaches a different lesson, and each has truly enriched my relationship with God. But through all of these stories, I found one common theme. The residents of MSC are always joyful even though they have nothing. One girl who displayed this was Chrissagay. Although she could only communicate with me a little through sign language. The smile and joyful cheer after I signed to her “I love you” made me realize the beauty and joy that can come through suffering. In one of the Mustard Seed homes, there is a sign that says, “Look at the ability, not the disability.” Her smiles and hugs have opened my eyes to the abundant love Christ has for us and the joy He brings us. The trip has not only helped me grow deeper in my faith, but has changed my perspective on life.
